What is a sing? How can I participate in an Opera?
Sings are gatherings of people for the purpose of reading through great choral music. Singers of all skill levels are welcome, though most have some sight-reading ability, or have previously sung or studied the works on the program. Listeners are welcome.
Our Community Opera program follows the same format as the Sing. Participants are welcome to attend the optional rehearsals but they are not required. All singing skill levels are welcome and no singing experience is needed to act on stage.

WHMF Community Opera repertory
Mozart's The Magic Flute, K. 620.
Mozart's opera The Magic Flute has captivated audiences since its first performance in 1791. The fairy tale takes place in Egypt where a brave prince, Tamino, must rescue the daughter of the Queen of the Night from the evil Sarastro. However, even more is in store for the prince and his bird-like companion Papageno than first meets the eye. This will be an audience participation production so we encourage you to come sing, act and participate. Make sure to stay for the wine and cheese reception to follow and celebrate the close of our festival. Those wishing to sing in the chorus and participate on stage should plan on attending the 5:30 rehearsal. The performance will start at 7:30 following our traditional pot-luck supper.
